....and my favourite issue to date....and that would be why?

....because I am the 'Artist in the Spotlight' ..thats why.... what a hoot.

This issue features two layout in the Artist in the spotlight gallery....the first one of Briony and Alex...and the second one an old photo of the three kids ... I think at the time I was probably frustrated by their stupid behaviour while I was taking the photo...looking at it now...I love it more than any posed shot...it shows their true characters.

...oh and this layout of Brent at Footy also got a spot.... more Urban Lily papers....

Scrapbooking Memories Vol 8 No 9

...contains my next commissioned layout .... Im pretty dissapointed with this one....I loved the papers when they arrived...but I just couldnt seem to work with all the brown....everything was in the same colour range....and I have come to realise that my scrapping is very dependant on colour combo's....so anything mono-chromatic is extremely difficult for me.

Please be kind....and just admire the lovely photo of Briony and Kate taken at Sovereign Hill many moons ago....

Scrapbooking for Beginners No.4

...another first!!
I was thrilled to supply a layout for Scrapbooking for Beginners No4 ....Project No9 .. another 'step by step' project ...and a layout of Mitch and Briony...which believe it or not..I scrapped on the caravan table while on holidays in Port Lincoln.
I had very limited supplies available....so I guess that makes it perfect for a beginner project.



....but then imagine my absolute amazement to see the kids peering back at me from the Newsagents shelf...my layout had made it onto the cover....how cool.

...this was a wonderful issue...and contained two of my layouts in the Quick Grabs Gallery ...one of them was my all time favourite...'Simple Pleasures'. (I have to say the layout looked washed out in the magazine....much better IRL) ...and the other was titled 'Mardi' and is another layout for my BOM.

... this issue contains my very first 'Step by Step Project'.

The layout titled 'if I could' is another of my favourites....and was based on an email that Kate wrote to Briony....( and some more photos by the talented Donna.)

I also had a layout in the Quick Grabs 'Circles' Gallery.... a layout that I had completed for my 'Book of me' based on the subject of travel.

Scrapbooking Memories Vol 8 No 8

....I was thrilled when this layout 'Happiness' was picked up for publcation...I loved the photo of Brent with his girlfriend Alex....and for it to be included in the 'love me tender' gallery..it couldnt have been better.

.....and another favourite of mine...particularly because it really higlights the journey of Mitch's bands on his teeth...titled 'Grin' it was included in the 'expressioist era' gallery.

...and this one of our beloved beach shack.
Titled 'Farewell' and included in the 'lots of photos, little time' gallery.
We sadly farewelled our Beach shack during 2006 .. it had been a large part of our childhood holidays and my Mums childhood too.
I love that I was able to include so many photos...and I created two hinged sides as well...which allowed journalling under each side.... so the Real Estate advertisement is under one flap....and some journalled memories under the other.

...and my second commissioned layout.... this time using some fabulous boy themed papers by Urban Lily... Mitch was the perfect subject...his totally loveable cheeky face.
I love these Urban Lily papers..... tricky to use...as the pattern is so intricate..... but scrumptious colours and rub-ons ect....

SM Scrapbooking Masters Special Edition Vol 8 No 6

.... my first year of entering the Masters....what a huge task with really no idea of what I was setting out to achieve...lol
I loved my layouts...really loved my layouts.....and they didnt..lol
..on the other hand I was NOT happy with my BTP...in fact the minute I posted it off I was wishing I couls suck it back and change it.... funnily enough SM liked it enough to give me a Honorable Mention.

...this was my very first commissioned layout ...using the 'Hot of the Press' Sarapapers.... I was given the Vintage collection.
I must admit I had a struggle with these papers ..not really my colours at all...but in the end it turned out ok....
I was sorting through some old school books one day when I came across this story Briony had written....its all about the chocolate family.

..."The New Rod and the First Fish" was part of the 'boys will be boys' gallery...and shows Mitch with his New Rod on his 15th Birthday in Esperance 2006 ..and then the first fish caught on it later back here in the Riverland.

Scrapbooking Memories Vol 7 No 12

This is definatly as much for my own record as for anyone who may wish to visit..... when I nervously submitted a few layouts toward the end of 2005 I never envisaged quite how many opputunites would come my way....

My very first layout was published in Scrapbooking Memories back in 2005.....its a hoot looking back now....I was so thrilled at the time...and yet its almost embarrassing looking at it now....

...I just love the liquid beadz monogram..... (and I have to make a little thankyou because this layout was created during a cropping day with the lovely and talented Belinda as my teacher.... although we created our own layouts (yes...its all my stunning work...lol)...we were under Belindas guidance and tutition... thanks gorgeous girl)
